My Story

I got into photography
because of weddings.

In 2018, I had the privilege of learning from an incredible mentor who dropped me into the deep end of wedding photography. I was terrified and completely hooked — learning how to read a room, anticipate a moment, find light in impossible places, and stay invisible while something irreplaceable was happening in front of me.

That experience gave me a foundation I still carry into every session. The instinct to find the moment before it disappears. The patience to let it unfold rather than force it. The belief that the best photograph isn’t the one you planned — it’s the one that actually happened.

Over time, my heart pulled toward families and couples in the everyday moments — the ones that happen before the big events and after them. The Tuesday morning rituals. The inside jokes. The season of life you’re living right now, that you’ll want to remember in 20 years.

As a mom of two, I know how fast it all goes. That’s exactly why I do this.

The Approach

I don’t show up and wing it. Every session I create begins before I pick up my camera — with a conversation about who you are, your aesthetic, and what this season of your life feels and looks like. From that, I design everything: the location, the light, the mood.

My goal is always the same: images that feel unmistakably like you. Not interchangeable with anyone else’s gallery. Not a pose you held for five seconds. Something real — beautifully rendered.

“Kassandra is an incredible photographer. My husband and I have been working with her since 2018 and have been thoroughly impressed every single session. She is talented, passionate, and a true professional.”

What I Believe

The principles behind
how I work

01

The best images are the ones nobody planned

Posed portraits have their place. But the images people cry over 30 years later are the ones where someone forgot the camera was there. That’s what I’m always looking for.

02

Every session should feel like an experience, not an errand

You should leave your session feeling good about it — not relieved it’s over. My job is to make the process as enjoyable as the images.

03

Generic is the enemy

I don’t have a shot list. I don’t photograph every client the same way. The goal is always images that could only be yours — built from who you actually are.

04

Light is everything

I plan every session around the light — golden hour whenever possible, and thoughtful attention to ambient light in every other situation. Beautiful light makes the difference between a good photo and one that stops you in your tracks.

05

This work matters

The images you make of your family right now will be the ones your grandchildren look at someday. I take that seriously. Every session, every image.

A Few More Things

Beyond the camera

Mom of two

I know exactly how fast it goes, how unpredictable kids are, and why it matters so much to document this specific season before it changes.

Dog lover

My late rescue, Bellatrix, is the reason 100% of any tips I receive go directly to Paws New England — where I adopted her almost 10 years ago.

East Hampton local

I’ve spent years learning the light in Connecticut — the best golden hour beaches, the most beautiful forest trails, the hidden spots most people never find.

Started in weddings

My foundation in wedding photography taught me to stay calm under pressure, read a room, and find the shot before the moment disappears. I bring all of that to every session.

Serving CT since 2018

Six-plus years of photographing families and couples across Connecticut — enough to know where the light is best in every season, and which beaches are worth the drive.

Cinephile

A lot of what I know about light, composition, and emotional storytelling I learned from watching films. My sessions feel like stills from a movie you’d actually want to live in.
